About Me
Welcome to my Web site!
I first became interested in painting when an aunt bought me a painting by numbers kit when I was about 8 years old. I little later I took another look at that painting (it was of a horse) and I thought to myself that it looked so amateurish, just blobs of colour following the drawn lines of the template, so I decided to try doing the same picture myself and I liked what I saw. I've gone from strength to strength since then and have a Special Recognition certificate for my painting of Helen (Dream paintings page of this website). This painting had been entered in the Special Recognition Category of the Light Space and Time abstract exhibition 2016 displayed on YouTube. I have also received a Special Recognition Category certificate for my painting of Henry, the spaniel (in the Animals page of this website). This also is on YouTube - Light Space and Time - Animals competition June 2016. - www.lightspacetime.com.
For my 'O' level art I produced a copy of Constable's Haywain (painted on the reverse side of a piece of wallpaper - all I had at the time). That piece of work got me an 'A' grade for the 'O' level. I then went on to study History of Art at 'A' level, then enrolled at a teacher training college, to become an Art teacher.
I’ve since produced quite a few paintings over the years, some of which you can see in the following pages. Most of these have been commissioned or for exhibitions. People usually give me photos to work from and I either place them in a background of my choice or as directed by the customer – to their size and specification. So, if you would like a particular painting, albeit scenery or animal or person, all you need to do is contact me and supply photos and your requirements.
